This box set contains twenty-four multi-part plastic 28mm Teutonic Infantry soldiers, engineered by Fireforge Games for the Deus Vult (“God Wills It”) series. Molded in high-impact polystyrene (HIPS) gray plastic, these figures represent the heavy infantry of the Teutonic Order during the 12th and 13th-century crusades. The kit is fully modular, allowing you to build up to 24 Teutonic Sergeants, up to 12 heavy foot Crossbowmen, or up to 12 Dismounted Teutonic Knights.

Historical Background:
The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, commonly known as the Teutonic Order, was a Catholic religious order founded as a military order c. 1192 in Acre. Formed to aid Christians on pilgrimages and establish hospitals, its members—the Teutonic Knights—became a premier crusading military force protecting the Holy Land and the Baltics throughout the Middle Ages.
Kit Tips:
- Basing Strategy: The included 20mm square bases are standard for “Rank and Flank” systems like Deus Vult. For skirmish systems such as SAGA, these models are easily adapted to individual round bases.
- Customization: With 34 heads and 8 different cloak types, you can ensure no two soldiers in your 24-man unit look identical, a key feature for elite hobbyists.
- Modular Assembly: Use a thin liquid plastic cement to create a chemical weld between parts, especially for the heavy lances and modular arms, to ensure durability during tabletop play.
- Painting for the Order: Since the Teutonic Order is defined by white surcoats and black crosses, we recommend a light gray or white spray primer to reduce the number of coats required for a clean finish.
Teutonic Infantry Color Palette
- Surcoats & Cloaks (The White): Start with a light gray base and layer up to a pure white, leaving gray in the folds for natural shading.
- The Teutonic Cross (The Black): Use a flat black for the crosses on shields and surcoats.
- Armor (The Steel): Apply a polished steel to the helms and mail, followed by a dark wash to define recessed details.
