Pétanque, or boules, is a classic game for all the family is steeped in history. A traditional game in France, it can be traced right back to ancient Rome. This Pétanque set by PlanToys is made up of 6 large solid rubberwood balls, 2 light blue, 2 dark blue and 2 yellow, and 2 smaller balls left natural wood, with a cotton carry net bag for storage. To play – each player chooses a colour, the natural wood balls are the parent balls or ‘jacks’. A jack is rolled out and each player takes it in turns to try and get their boules as close to the parent ball as possible, with the winner being the person with the closest boules.
