Star Parodier is a whimsical vertical-scrolling “cute ’em up” that spoofs Hudson Soft’s serious Star Soldier series by sending three unconventional heroes—the Paro Caesar ship, a giant flying Bomberman, and an anthropomorphic PC Engine console—to save the planet Paroson. Tasked with stopping the villainous Mother Brain and her surreal army of mummies, snowmen, and giant fish, players blast through eight vibrant stages ranging from airborne amusement parks to toy factories. The game maintains the fast-paced, high-quality shooting mechanics of its parent series while replacing gritty sci-fi with lighthearted visual gags, such as defeated enemies waving white flags in surrender.
