Based on an agricultural TV show, Moo Cow Island is facing serious issues after a witch called Jaren creates a series of volcanoes, and a black path, which in turn unleashes monsters on to the land.
The player takes control of the titular cow farmer Daichi-kun. The aim of the game is to build up a successful arable farm by planting and harvesting crops, then selling them for money to buy farming supplies, while clearing monsters and the ash they deposit to protect the crops. Success of the farm is dependent on keeping the Geiger No Machine running.
Daichi-kun Crisis: Do Natural is a quirky, comedic action puzzle / strategy game for the PC Engine.
Instead of direct combat, the gameplay focuses on:
-
environmental traps
-
puzzle-based movement timing
-
stage gimmicks and physics hazards
The tone is playful and unconventional — with surreal humor, expressive cartoon sprites, and unexpected stage events. It feels like a hybrid between an action puzzler and slapstick platform experiment, making it a cult oddity in the PC Engine library and a favorite among collectors of unusual Japanese titles.
It stands out as one of the strangest — yet most charming — puzzle titles on the system.
