In PC Denjin: Punkic Cyborgs, a futuristic, side-scrolling shoot-’em-up spin-off from the Bonk series, the player controls Zonk, a cyborg descendant of the original caveman hero. The story begins when the evil Count King Tamahgo Sandrovitch converts Zonk into a cyborg as part of his “ZZ Project” to conquer Earth. Zonk rebels against his creator, escapes, and assembles a team of allies known as the “Punkic Cyborgs” to thwart Sandrovitch’s nefarious schemes. The game involves Zonk flying through various vibrant and wacky stages, collecting power-ups to enhance his firepower and temporarily merge with his friends to form powerful combined entities, all in an effort to defeat Sandrovitch and his army of cyber robots.
