This game’s premise continues the struggle of the Earth Defense League against the aggressive, evolving Bydo alien lifeforms, which are a mix of biological and mechanical structures. The player pilots the R-9 “Arrowhead” space fighter (specifically the R-9C successor in the original arcade R-Type II) on a mission to penetrate the heart of the Bydo forces. R-Type II contains stages 5-8.
