Dungeon Master: Theron’s Quest is a streamlined, console-focused adaptation of the classic Western dungeon-crawler Dungeon Master. Rebuilt for the TurboGrafx-CD/TurboDuo, the game features seven distinct dungeons rather than one massive labyrinth, each with its own layout, puzzles, monsters, and treasure. You play as Theron, a young hero traveling across the land to collect seven powerful artifacts hidden within these perilous maze-like strongholds.
Gameplay emphasizes first-person exploration, pressure-plate puzzles, hidden switches, trap-filled corridors, and real-time combat where timing your weapon swings and spells is essential. Unlike the original computer versions, Theron’s Quest was redesigned to be more accessible, with simplified training, a more forgiving difficulty curve, and a self-contained story tailored for console play. The CD format also adds enhanced music and clearer visual assets.
