Karnov’s Revenge (also known in Japan as Fighter’s History Dynamite) is a competitive 2D fighting game by Data East and the sequel to Fighter’s History. Built for the Neo Geo arcade hardware, it features fast-paced one-on-one combat, high-impact special moves, and the return of Data East’s famously eccentric roster—anchored by the fire-breathing ex-circus strongman Karnov, now elevated to the role of final boss.
The game’s signature mechanic is the “weak point system,” where each fighter has a specific armor vulnerability. Striking it repeatedly causes a stun, rewarding players who can read opponents and execute targeted pressure. New characters join the roster, including Zazie the kickboxer and Yungmie the Taekwondo fighter, alongside updated animations, faster jumps, and smoother combos. The Neo Geo hardware delivers bright, bold sprites and arcade-perfect responsiveness.
Whether played on AES at home or MVS in the arcade, Karnov’s Revenge is remembered as a cult classic with a unique identity in the fighting game scene.
