Set a year after the events of Macross 2036, the U.N. Spacy cadet Kiryû Hayato is thrust into a new war when the notorious Zentradi villain Quamzin 03350 resurfaces with a massive fleet near Saturn, intending to capture the “secret of the song” and conquer the universe. The conflict becomes a complex three-way battle with the simultaneous arrival of the female Meltrandi forces, led by the ace pilot Misty Klaus. After being defeated in battle and later experiencing human culture, Misty defects to the U.N. Spacy side and joins Kiryû’s Apple Team. Together, they fight to overcome Quamzin and the Meltrandi, eventually using Lynn Minmay’s music to pacify the enemy forces and achieve victory
